Zimbabwe's first go at the ICC U-19 world cup is underway at QE11 in Christchurch.
The boys are expected to give it their best against Canada.
On Sunday, they play Sri Lanka at the Lincoln oval and hundreds of African supporters are exptected to rally behind the boys in red.
Tuesday is D-day for the boys as they play the hosts, New Zealand at QE11. That match will decide whether the boys remain in Christchurch or relocate to Napier for the next stage of the tournament.
The Zimbabwe Society in South Island is hosting the team for a reception at Knox Presbyterian church, 28 Bealey Avenue, Tuesday the 19th at 7pm.
Community members and friends of Zimbabwe are invited to this 'bring a plate' evening event.
